The Lamargue offers mixed berries, oak and sturdy tannins in the mouth, and more of the same (plus a metallic note) on the medium-length finish. The bouquet—chalk and a smoked meatiness, over bright mixed berries—is my favorite part

Deep, jammy grapey aromas with a noticeable green herb note open this mid-weight, soft wine. It's another southern French neo-Australian, but the green note turns less herbal and more bell-peppery on the palate and finish, detracting from the sweet-tart fruit. Closes dry, with modest length.

Red berry, cedar and bubble gummy aromas open onto a chewy, red berry and blackberry-filled palate. Sturdy tannins; finishes with oak and chalk flavors. A good, by-the-glass Cab bar pour.
