Lost patience at the restaurant waiting for our table and finally had the bartender pull the cork and hand us glasses; so didn't give the wine the best opportunity to show off. By the time we were seated, it was drinking considerably better, but was nearly gone and never had the benefit of food accompaniment. Thoroughly pleasant, medium bodied. Tannins, fruit and acid all well balanced. Will decant the next one before drinking (2/2006). Even better than the last one (3/2006, 90 rating). followed a 2004 Iron Horse (Sonoma) Pinot and the Cali surpassed the Burg in most every way other than maturity. This was much more subdued than fruity, less bright or aromatic (2/2006, 89 rating).
