Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Equally well known for its white, Clos Mireille, close by the Mediterranean, has produced a deliciously balanced, fresh and fruity rosé. The light fruits are dominated by red berries, leading to a crisp finish.

A rich, fat wine, with the weight of concentrated red fruits laced with pear and a touch of spice. There is a vanilla layer that adds extra complexity.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The nose is fresh and pretty and there’s definitely a luxurious texture to the flower-accented palate. However, it lacks intensity in the mouth and a slight funkiness on the finish detracts. Drink soon.

One of the world's best-known rosés, Ott's Château de Selle is a clean, refreshing, minerally drink. The flavors are difficult to describe exactly, coming across a little like underripe melon combined with grapefruit, herbs and white chocolate. Tasty enough to satisfy the wine crowd, trendy enough to satisfy everyone else.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
It’s expensive, but there’s no denying the high quality of this wine. Almost smoky, mineral-like complexity emerges on the nose, followed by hints of cherry fruit underscored by dramatic freshness on the lengthy finish.

Domaines Ott Rosé - 2007

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This legendary rosé blend of Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Grenache is plump—verging on heavy—in 2003. Peach and berry flavors are pleasant enough, accented by hints of anise on the finish, but where’s the lively joy of the best Provençal rosés? No doubt baked out by the heat of the vintage. Imported by Maisons Marques & Domaines USA.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Dark and dusty on the nose, with hints of tree bark alongside flavors of plum, chocolate and dried spices. This medium-to-full-bodied red is supple enough to drink tonight, but would probably benefit from another few years of cellaring. Finishes long, picking up black-cherry and tar notes. Imported by Maisons Marques & Domaines USA.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This zesty Provence white is starting to show its age a bit, with faded flowers upfront and a slightly waxy texture. Nonetheless, there’s enough to keep the senses entertained, with a pleasant floral edge to the pear-inflected palate and a final butter note. Drink up.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Produced from the Clos Mireille, within sight of the Mediterranean, this fresh-faced wine shows peach and citrus flavors rounded by ripeness, although with an attractive tangy aftertaste.

Domaines Ott White Blend - 2009

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
From the producers of Domaines Ott, this is an attempt at an entry-level rosé. It’s plump in the mouth, delviering round, canteloupe and citrus flavors, but finishes a bit soft.
