Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
An example of how the grape glut is resulting in good wines below $10. Has polished plum and berry flavors, and is dry, with firm but yielding tannins. Not complex, but with enough finesse to serve with fine foods.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Briary and peppery, a wine that smells like scads of freshly ground white pepper sprinkled over a blackberry tart just out of the oven. Bone dry, with some hefty tannins, but will succeed with the right foods—roast lamb, for example.
