A warm microclimate means that reds from Carmel Valley are typically less herbal than those from other portions of Monterey. This wine boasts a nice mix of cedar and black cherries upfront before turning tough, with a bitter edge to the tannins on the finish. Drink it young, with food to tame its rough edges.

Just released at five and a half years. Refined aromas of black currant, with classy oak notes. Fruity and simple, with pretty currant flavors and zesty acidity. An “A” for effort, but for early consumption.

Very apple-flowery nose with herb accents. Fairly soft, round mouthfeel. Buttered popcorn and apples on the palate, with a fair amount of oak coming up on the finish.
