Occupies one end of the Viognier spectrum, showing mineral, shellac, and extreme citrus or gooseberry aromas. The flavors similarly veer to the mineral, hay and grassy side. Very dry, crisp and clean.

Consistently one of the best Cabernets made south of the Bay Area, this year the wine is especially tasty. Not too ripe, with suggestions of blackberry and cassis and herbs, and some good, old-fashioned tannins.

Almost dessert-like in apparent sweetness, but balanced with crisp acidity, this luscious wine is filled with honey, baked apple, peach, apricot and vanilla flavors.

A bit soft and sweet, with raspberry, black cherry, cola and chocolate flavors. Would benefit from greater dryness and acidic structure, although the tannins are kind of strong. Okay with a grilled steak.

This is a dependably good, satisfyingly sweet wine from Eberle. The 2008 vintage, with 5.5% residual sugar, is overtly sweet, with good acidity framing savory flavors of tangerine crème brûlée, apricot jam, ripe pear and vanilla custard. Good price for a full bottle of a dessert wine this delicious.

If you’re barbecuing and looking for a wine everyone will like, try this dry, fruity blush Syrah. It’s got peppery raspberry, cherry and vanilla flavors, and the rich burst of acidity will play well against meats and cheeses.

Eberle’s estate Cab is a seriously attractive wine, due mainly to its soft, velvety tannins and delicious blackberry and cherry flavors. A hint of raisins is there, but adds seasoning to the finish.

Showing good Cabernet character, this pleasant wine has blackberry, currant and cocoa flavors, wrapped in soft, gentle tannins. It’s nicely dry, and finishes with a bite of pepper.

The heat of Paso hasn’t given this Chard much acidity, but in its place you’ll find beautifully ripened fruit. It tastes like peaches floating in natural cream, drizzled with honey and vanilla and just a dash of creme de cassis. It’s really quite an impressive wine.

Classic Paso Zin, soft, dry, and long on blackberry, cherry, chocolate and spice flavors that flood the palate and last into the finish. There’s something soul-soothing about this wine.
