Starts with stemmy, burnt aromas but after time oak notes cover things up. Apple, sweet pear, buttery oak and popcorn are the main flavors on this sweet, pithy wine that when stripped down is fairly hollow and simple.

Bright and zesty raspberry aromas bring a hint of leather and cheese. The palate is creamy and solid, with sweet, lightly candied flavors of red berry and cassis. Finishes with gravitas and balance as well as perky cherry and raspberry flavors.

Warm, rubbery, ripe and loaded with berry fruit, vanilla and floral notes. The palate has sweet flavors, a rich texture and a touch of syrupy thickness to it, while the flavors of berry, mineral and herbs all come together in friendly unison. Still holding its form nearly six years after harvest; drink now.

Slightly rough and leathery on first take, and a little soupy as well. Airing clears things up, leaving a steady, mildly stewed wine with roasted plum and blackberry flavors. Ripe, sweet and generous, with a controlled finish that properly reflects the wine’s flavors and mouthfeel.

A bit sharp and volatile at first, but with time the aromas mellow out to rest on black fruits and olive. The palate has a lively kick to it but it’s also sort of hard and heavy, with roasted, basic black fruit and herbal flavors. Caramelized on the finish, but aggressive as a whole.
