Not for the faint of heart, but worth the effort. A red fruit bomb that sticks to your mouth and liver. High (15.6%) alcohol, but balanced given the exceptionally strong fruit (blend of Syrah, grenache, Petit Syrah) and tannins. Don't try to drink a bottle on your own ... Has strong blueberry/blueberry liqueur flavors along with winter spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.). Stands up nicely to red meats and heavy pastas, but more versatile than you'd expect ... I first had it with a delicate sweetbread dish and it paired beautifully. A great find.
