The excellent 1999 vintage in Piedmont has been somewhat overlooked because it fell between some even better vintages. Erbaluna has crafted an interesting aromatic wine that shows sweet jammy fruit, licorice and violets. It still seems young, and has the structure to benefit from a few more years of bottle age, but it drinks well now.
