Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The bouquet blends tropical aromas with popcorn, and the palate is toasty as well, but not cloying or thick. Flavors of green banana, orange, melon and pineapple are spicy and zesty, and there’s pineapple and woodspice to the finish. A natural-yeast Chard with balance and zest to go along with tropical sweetness.

Spritzy and spunky, but already the flavors seems to be on the way out. The bouquet is salinic and narrow, with more sea water and clam shell than bright, forward fruit scents. Still, this is true Chilean SB, so there’s ample melon, apple and other green flavors, including bell pepper.

Clean but basic in its approach. The nose has dusty apricot and melon aromas, while the palate deals nectarine, citrus and peach flavors. That it’s fresh, wet and easy on the tongue is probably the best thing it has going for it. Won’t last a whole lot longer; drink now.

Scattered on the nose, with peach and honey notes. More solid on the palate, where bitter orange, banana and honey flavors vie for center stage. Loses some intensity and clarity on the finish, but there’s enough vital acidity throughout to keep it moving in the right direction. A good dessert wine for simple settings.

Bright, bursting aromatics of green apple, white peach and summer grass are pungent yet controlled. The palate has a fresh, friendly feel that supports papaya, passion fruit and lime flavors. This is full of pop and typicity; it lasts on the finish and mixes the best of leesy weight and tropicality.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Staunch and varietally correct from the opening gun; this is one big, obvious Carmenère with a ton of spice, extract, ripeness and quality. The palate is deep, powerful and rich, with tobacco, blackberry, fig, graham cracker and strong herbal influences. The finish is lush, long and spicy, with richness and a final dose of herbs. Drink now and over the next few years.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Alluring on the nose, with a ton of dried spice, mocha and tobacco aromas to go with beefy, berry fruit notes. Despite its darkness and size, this wine delivers bright, juicy acidity and then herbal cassis and berry flavors. Tobacco, herbs and length define the finish. A blend of five red grapes, including Mourvèdre and Petit Verdot; drink now through 2013.

Eduardo Chadwick’s signature wine is good, albeit a touch awkward on the nose. Aromas of cherry tomato and leather seem mildly sharp, yet there’s no evidence of underripeness in the mouth. In fact, the cherry, blackberry and vanilla flavors are lush, while the finish is sweet, oaky and chocolaty. The blend is Cabernet, Cab Franc and Carmenère.

Very nice on the nose, with lime, celery and semisour pickle aromas. There is plenty of character to this round, generous single-vineyard SB from Casablanca. The palate is snappy and citric, while the finish is full of ripe grapefruit and other subtle green notes. A very good wine that borders on excellence. For the money, it’s a green-light special.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Pungent and teetering on the edge of herbaceousness. But then it draws back, settling on passion fruit, tropical breezes and lime. The wine has pulsing acidity and it dances on the palate. It’s also sort of bracing and sharp, which some may find too razor-like for their palate. Very nice for coastal Aconcagua, an outland where few besides Errazuriz have gone.
