The elegant, spice-driven nose makes a positive initial impression, and the body and flavors do a decent job of sustaining it. It’s a little light in the midpalate, but there are ample black-cherry flavors and smoky oak. An extremely competent wine from Len Evans, a figure in modern Australian wine lore. Best Buy.
