Although this wine is rather oak-driven, it makes a lasting impression on the palate thanks to its concentration and velvety presence in the mouth. Aromas are on the oaky side of oak with toasted nut, charcoal, vanilla and spicebox.

Yoko Ono designed the “Imagine You” label, which has been printed in six different collectors’ colors. The nose is as distinctive as its packaging with deep notes of Indian spice, cumin, cardamom, tobacco, leather and bright cherry at the core. Palate-wise, it is lush and opulent with a solid build and firm tannins.

Deep and incisive, two years of slow barrique aging create rich toasted notes such as charcoal, cigar box, licorice and vanilla although, thankfully, enough room is left for fresh cherry and berry fruit flavors. The wine is 95 percent Sangiovese with a small component of Merlot for softness: A brawny, oak-powered wine best enjoyed now.

Full of pleasant surprises, this red blend offers high intensity in the form of blackberry, green bell pepper and crushed peppercorn backed by chocolate, cigar and toast. A fine, modern wine with firm structure but also with a plush, velvety mouthfeel despite only five months in oak.

Part of Fattoria Nittardi’s celebrated artist series (a creative design is released on the label of each new vintage), this plush Chianti Classico offers toasted nut, mature fruit, leather and dried tobacco. The aromas are slightly muddled at first and come into focus with more time in the glass.

You can't help but admire the beautifully vibrant ruby color of this Chianti Classico that ages six months in oak. Red fruit aromas also show very well, especially dried currant berry. Flavors include coffee and toast and are followed by tight tannins.

If you like richly oaked reds, this is your wine. The toasted notes are pungent but they don’t completely mask the fresh plum, cherry and currant. Vanilla and clove flavors are reinforced by rock-solid tannins and excellent persistency on the finish. Drink after 2008.

This Riserva has all its cards in place in terms of color, concentration and density; but it is also a consciously oak-driven wine. The emphasis is on roasted chestnuts, campfire and burnt bread crust. It has bold power and intensity and should be paired with barbecued or grilled steak.

Modern in delivery and approach, this boasts deep and penetrating notes of coffee, vanilla-nut, sweet fudge, espresso and a dark core of mature black cherry. It is extremely velvety and caressing in the mouth with soft tannins and mature fruit flavors on the finish.

Incredibly ripe and ready, with aromas of rubber, bacon and deep, luscious plum. Good fruit carries the palate, and along the way you’ll get cherry, strawberry and distant coconut flavors. With vanilla and cream on the finish, all is complete.
