Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A beautiful, straw-colored wine with a little more brawn to its body reveals itself elegantly in the form of honeydew melon, pineapple and exotic fruit. Falanghina’s busy repertoire of sweet fruit smells are cleverly balanced by long-lasting crispness. Imported by Palm Bay Imports.

Campania’s celebrated Feudi di San Gregorio recently unveiled a new, revamped style for its white wines. This debut vintage delivers gorgeous tones of peachy cream and sophisticated mineral tones. It’s an oak-fermented expression of Greco di Tufo from 15-year-old vines.

Pietracalda (“hot stone”) is Fiano di Avellino done in a vibrant and lively style to enhance its natural aromas of pear, peach and white stone. The wine has crisp acidity and a creamy, pulpy feel in the mouth.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A strange perfume comes off this wine; it’s almost like soap dish meets daisies, and while that’s not bad it’s not that wine-like either. Flavors of apple cider and chunky melon are standard and soft. Not a ton of finish or flair.

A first-rate Merlot that is dense, concentrated, chewy and packed tight with red cherry, Indian spice, chopped mint and roasted espresso bean. But there is also a subtle and delicate floral tone that adds to its wonderful complexity. This wine is full of nuances, finesse and is silky smooth on the palate.

Blueberry, blackberry and cherry candy are backed by deep and penetrating notes of ash, pencil lead, mineral and licorice. The wine delivers vigor and personality and is a fine example of a Campania red with a solid structure and lasting finish.

Starting to show some signs of peaking, but there's still vital dried fruit aromas, particularly mango and apricot, to get jazzed about. Honey, cantaloupe and orange flavors are ripe, and there's a hint of butterscotch on the finish. Drink real soon.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A beautiful wine: sweet cherry and berry fruit nuances are woven within threads of vanilla, toast and ash. Despite the firm and penetrating mineral element, this wine is actually very plush, soft and round and it delivers long spicy notes on the finish.

Year after year, Feudi’s Taurasi delivers amazing intensity and volcanic soil aromas that are so distinctive they immediately give its Campania roots away. This boasts bold cherry, with deep tones of sweet-smelling blue flower, licorice, pinecone, tobacco, campfire and charcoal. The wine is plush and velvety on the palate and those fantastic mineral notes emerge on the finale.

Lead pencil, graphite, campfire, black mineral, blackberry, prunes and plums shape a first-class vintage of this famous Taurasi Riserva. The wine is dense and thick in concentration and offers excellent length and quality of tannins. Keep this wine in your cellar until 2010.
