Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A full and pulsing wine, with leather and other animal notes to make things more interesting. The mouth is like a black-fruit explosion: muscular berry and tannins fly all over the place, ending in a lively, almost fiery finish. A bit grabby and overexcited, but good with grilled meats.

Dark and minty on the nose, with a juicy, somewhat rubbery and bouncy palate feel. Flavors of blackberry, plum and olive are a touch oily, while the finish is balanced and holds its form. Nothing outrageous, but good wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Big, grapey and whole on the nose, and then lound, large and ripe in the mouth, with ringing acidity, bold berry flavors and a warm, oily, earthy finish. A solid wine that gets it mostly right.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Apple and melon aromas get it going, and while it smells reserved, there's a core acidity to it that keeps it tangy and aggressive. Flavors of apple and lemon are tart but fresh, while the finish is quiet and has a light, oily feel.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A pretty white wine with lively aromas, flavors and feel. The bouquet issues attractive lychee, melon and vanilla cream aromas, while the palate flows forth with apple, melon and exotic citrus flavors. Just spicy enough on the tail end, with a lasting taste of lychee fruit. Delicate, solid and fresh.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Minty and earthy, with aromas of plum, rubber and herbs. The palate is straight down the middle in terms of feel, while the flavors turn brambly and herbal, something the finish matches. Basic and a little strained.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Sweet and woody from start to finish. In between the powerful oak waves you’ll find smoked meat and leather. Ripe in the mouth, with blueberry and blackberry flavors, then tannic and very woody on the finish. In fact, oak takes over as the dominant characteristic about halfway through. Imported by Classic Wines of California.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Oaky up front, with more than a dash of mocha, caramel and sweet berry fruit aromas. The palate is zesty and honest, with juicy, bright black cherry and berry flavors. Finishes toasty and perky, with one last shot of firm acidity to keep it running long and late.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Despite a young, jumpy and jammy beginning, this wine soon finds a groove that includes ripe cherry and berry flavors backed by a nice mouthfeel and a full finish that keeps its form. If there’s the smallest bit of green on the nose and flavor it’s forgiven by overall good quality.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A bushel of punched-up red fruit carries the nose, but there's not much oak, character or nuance to hang your hat on. The palate is equally red-fruit dominated, but the mouthfeel is hard and stingy and the wine stumbles to a rubbery, grabby finish.
