Heady plum and dark berry aromas give a warning of size and ripeness, and indeed there’s a ton of ripe fruit to the palate; but the wine is also raw, untamed and lacking in mouthfeel. It could stand to flow and finish better than it does.

Dilute cherry aromas carry an alcoholic burn, while the palate is candied, generic and semisweet. Finishes hot, with not much of a pleasure quotient.

Licorice and warm blacktop make for a dark nose, yet there isn’t much base to the acidic palate. There’s grabby, tangy generic fruit but mostly tartness and sizzle. An edgy wine with a spot of mocha on a sharp finish.

Pungent with true Sauvignon character. Tangerine, green fruits and grapefruit share the flavor profile, and the finish is mild but clean. Zesty, straightforward and tasty if served chilled.

Solid, ripe and smooth on the nose, then red cherry and raspberry come forward on the zesty, tangy palate. The finish is long and healthy, but a bit monotone in its delivery. Freshness and pop are not lacking in this young Malbec.

Heavy and basic, with melon and pineapple aromas. Full-flavored with a ton of apple and cinnamon character. Made in the round, fruit-forward style. Not a complex, overly serious wine. A solid quaffer.

A little dusty and also sort of briney on the nose, with citric acidity pushing orange, apple and pear flavors. A textbook sweet, simple South American Chardonnay with a tropical leaning and finishing flavors of pineapple.

Fairly round aromas of blackberry are also slightly grapey, while the plump palate offers dark fruit flavors and a choppy mouthfeel. Finishes with a taste of powdered drink mix and grape bubblegum. Decent but shows all the signs of the large-production, commercial wine that it is.

As this winery’s young vines take on some age, the wines are getting better. This Malbec shows graham cracker and plum aromas on a ready-to-go bouquet, while the palate is almost lush as it delivers tasty strawberry, raspberry and chocolate flavors. Simple enough for novices but also interesting enough to satisfy more savvy imbibers.

Fresh, tropical, and welcoming. Sweet and lush in the mouth with a full blast of mango and melon flavors. Medium-bodied with good acidity. Finishes correct and everything seems to be united and put together. Above-average value Chardonnay from Argentina.
