The grapes are from hot areas, like Lodi and Amador, and although the official residual sugar reads dry, the wine tastes very sugary, with cherries. Go figure. From Sonoma Coast Winery.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This lusty Cabernet Sauvignon is meant for drinking now. What it lacks in polish it more than makes up for in rustic power, with ripely extracted flavors of blackberries, currants and cedar. Nice with anything calling for a dry, full-bodied red wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A rustic blend of Merlot, Zinfandel, Syrah, Grenache and Petite Sirah, this robust wine has lots of fruity flavor. Drink with Mexican food, burgers, goulash, meat loaf and similar simple fare.

A little too soft and hot, but pretty tasty in raspberry and cherry jam, with a rich flourish of milk chocolate. Feels rustic, like a simple country wine.
