Nice Gewürz, for those consumers looking for something outside of Alsace. Exaggerated floral aromas are typical, so are the lychee and spice flavors. There’s a modest sweetness to this wine, so it should work well with spicy Asian foods.

Mid-gold in color, this has a pronounced classic Gewürztraminer nose of lychee, rose petals, spice and ripe stone fruit with notes of earthy minerality. Sweet and richly textured, round mouthfeel with moderately intense flavors similar to nose with an added note of stem ginger and smoky spice on the finish.

For a halbtrocken, this is pretty darn dry. Grapefruit and green apple aromas give way to flavors of wet stone and lime, finishing tart and stony. There’s just enough fruit to balance the elevated acids and low residual sugar. Probably best with seafood.

Slightly toasty on the nose, but there’s plenty of fresh fruit as well, ranging from apple to pineapple and tangerine. Clean, fresh and easy to drink and enjoy.

Perfumed and floral on the nose, but there’s also a fair degree of crushed stone buffered by hints of green apple and citrus. Flavors are strongly floral and mineral, then finish stony and dry.

Reasonably broad and full-bodied, this is a solid example of Chardonnay from the Pfalz. Dried spices accent pineapple and melon fruit, finishing on a crisp, citrusy note.

A bit drier in style than Fitz-Ritter’s Durkheimer Riesling kabinett, this wine shows hints of peach and dried spices on the nose, then eases into similar flavors tinged with briny minerality on the long finish. It’s plump enough to be enjoyable on its own, or with fish or poultry.

This bottling seems pretty variable from year to year, with the 2006 version being somewhat sweet and simple. It offers pear and lime flavors on a compact frame, finishing clean but short.
