This interesting blend named Seven Petals Blend, consists of 30% Syrah, 25% Malbec, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petite Sirah, 9% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petite Verdot, and 3% Zinfandel. The wine was blended and aged together for 36 months in small oak barrels, 50% of them new. I believe this wine will age well over the next five years. This blend is well structured, fruit forward with smooth tannins. It has a complex nose consisting of plum, cassis, anise, rasberry, and some definite earthy tones. The flavor supports the nose, and is nothing short of gorgeous. Try it with sausages, roast, and gorgonzola or blue cheese. $23

This Pinot Noir was harvested in Redwood Valley, Mendocino in late September of 09. It was aged in small neutral oak barrels for 9 months. Aromas were pretty layered with cherry, spice, and pepper. Flavors included cherry, spice, a very light oak, and plum. It exhibited a light body, soft tannins, and a nice lengthy finish. Very subtle complexity. It began like a Burgundy, fooling you into thinking it was fermented in stainless steel, but the oak got you on the finish. This was a really good Pinot. $22
