From Carneros Creek, although you won’t see it on the label (why not?). Pretty good dry blush, a little bitter and thin, but crisply acidic, with decent cherry skin, pomegranate and vanilla spice flavors.

Dry and common, with thinned-down cherry and cola flavors, wrapped into a silky texture. Acidity is high, and the wine tastes a little sour.

Sweet and sour, with candied pineapple and butterscotch flavors as well as brisk acidity, leading to a sugary finish. Okay as an everyday Chardonnay.

A bit raw and acidic, lacking generosity, but you’ll find some decent cherry flavors in this dry Pinot Noir.

The fact that this Chard isn’t super-fruity and doesn’t have a ton of oak is exactly what makes it so pretty. As pretty, in fact, as the flower label. It’s dry, tart and minerally, with suggestions of lemon zest, pears and sweet kefir limes. Very Chablisian.

Tough and gritty in tannins, with blackberry and currant flavors alongside less ripe ones of herbs and mints, this is a country-style wine. It’s useful at this price with inexpensive foods that call for a full-bodied red.

It’s a little on the sharp, minty side, but probably one of the better Pinots at this price. Shows a nice, silky texture, with savory acidity perking up flavors of cherries, raspberries, cola and dusty Asian spices.

For fifteen bucks you get a nice, silky Pinot Noir with some pretty good fruit and crisp, palate-stimulating coastal acidity. The flavors of cherries, currants and cola will play well with a beef taco.
