This McLaren Vale beauty has sturdy, ripe blackberry and plum fruit and big, chewy tannins, with both fruit and tannins lingering on the finish. Not one you’d ever call a jamball, or a fruit bomb—it’s just pure, delicious, focused goodness. Aromas of anise, summer berries, earth and eucalyptus are fabulous as well—but with what you get on the palate, they just feel like a bonus.

A pretty wine with black cherry fruit at the core, but with toasty oak ruling the roost. There’s a lot of black pepper, chile pepper and spice here, particularly for a Grenache. Could easily stand up to steak.

Big fruit and wide-reaching eucalyptus aromas waft from the nose, while on the palate, blackberry and plum fruit flavors take on accents of bramble or fireplace. Dark but elegant; approachable now through 2008.
