This is an extremely elegant and beautiful wine that is tight and compact while being intense and generous at the same time. It offers luscious notes of ripe cherry, blueberry fruit and piquant highlights that recall Asian spices (10% Cabernet is added to the blend). It has a gorgeous mouthfeel, bright fruit flavors and silky tannins.

Begins with a blast of bright cherry fruit, backed by subtle leather and tobacco aromas, before subsiding into a creamy mouthful of cherries and vanila. A slight herbal note adds complexity. Finish is rich and filled with supple tannins.

Soft, supple and inviting, this is a beautifully executed Chianti Classico that puts as much emphasis on the quality of aromas as it does on the feel the wine imparts in the mouth. It’s polished and plush with lingering notes of red fruit, spice and blue flowers.

Lush and extracted, with laser-beam intensity, smoke and all the black cherry and herbs you could ask for. Gorgeous blackberry, plum and cherry flavors announce total ripeness, while the tannins are present but integrated. Modern in style, with a barrique-based personality.

Caramel in color with golden highlights, this Vin Santo is delectably sweet with a pretty ensemble of aromas from butterscotch and honey to chestnut and dried fruit. It boasts a chewy, tasty mouthfeel and a sweet, long-lasting finish. It’s probably better to pair it with a cigar or pipe than with food.

Here’s a standout Sangiovese-based super Tuscan with a very unique peppermint-like characteristic that helps to increase the wine’s intensity and delicious overall effect. Beyond that layer of fresh mint are softer aromas of earth, white mineral, talc powder, pencil lead, cherry and spice. The wine has a strong mineral component.

One of the original Super Tuscans and made from 100% sangiovese, the Flaccianello was the #8 in the WS top 100 for 2010. Intense cherry fruit with lovely tannins--just enough to work well with food pairings but not overbearing. Got some notes of tobacco on the finish.
