Big, sweet nose, dense and rich, ripe black cherry and plum aromas, soft tannins, silky and smoky nose with herbs and licorice, touch of tar; sweet and ripe on the palate with gobs of fruit; there is a concentration of black cherry and plum flavors in the mouth that is almost chewy, but at the same time elegant in a California kind of way; layered and with big tannins still evident in this format; long, sweet finish with ripeness and spice at the finish; quite good really.
