Very soft, ripe grapefruit and kumquat flavors, lifted by acidity. The wine is broad, full in the mouth, crispness well integrated. Great final fruit.

Smooth, softly textured, going for the creamy side of Sauvignon Blanc. The wine has weight, flavors of toast and spice as well as ripe pink grapefruit. It is approaching maturity, but could age for another year.

Silex is the French name for the flint over limestone soil that occurs in the Sancerre and Pouilly regions. There is a definite character of tight texture in this wine, very mineral while it also has ripe fruit. This is a new wine from Fournier, an impressive addition to the range.

Exotic and encouraging, with as much mineral and stone-like aromas as there are grapefruit, green melon, herb and mustard seed scents. Citrus is definitely the lead soldier on the palate, which is tart and crisp. Tangerine and other citrus fruits carry the zesty finish to a pointed termination. Imported by David Milligan Selections.

With the extra year of maturity, this is turning into a toast and spice wine, with the citrus fruit now softening into ripe apples and peaches. The acidity remains, giving a satisfactory jolt of final freshness. The wine’s name means girl from Chaudoux, a small village near Sancerre.

Concentrated, with white fruits, a strong streak of herbaceousness, green apples and a rich texture. The wine shows intensity as well as youth. It really needs another year before drinking.

The weight of good Pouilly Fumé is all here, with a rounded texture and a vegetable garden of flavors. There is a steely streak of acidity shooting through, along with some tight apple skins. The finish is soft, toasty, rich.

Pure grassy Sauvignon Blanc aromas are a good start to the crisp, fresh wine. It has all the right herbaceous and green fruit flavors, very fresh, structured with green plum skins. There is a delicious final acidity.
