Maybe I'm cheerlaeding for my home state, and maybe I'm preachy about Riesling, but if I could get this delightful wine into enthusiasts' mouths, it might change their minds about both Riesling and New York State wines. This is a rounder, fatter rendition of riesling, with petrol-diesel aromatics over the apple-grape fruit. It has Chardonnay-like weight, but a decidedly different flavor range, with honey-apricot shadings and a long, appley close.

A soft, feminine nose of toasted oak and round fruit on the nose, and a flavor profile of balanced fruit and acid on the palate, make this a good white for both cold weather, serious meals and just sipping on the patio in warmer months. The mouthfeel is a touch light and the wine could use some weight, but overall, a good choice for numerous dishes.

Heady white florals and tropical fruit perfume this charming Gewürztraminer. Full bodied and luscious with lots of fresh, white grapefruit juice and a mild, limeade acidity, the midpalate might feel a bit sluggish, but a pleasant grapefruit pith and white tea astringency kicks in on the finish.

Somewhat herbal in the nose, with moderate body and mild tannic structure. The wine serves up earth tones followed by tea, sage, anise, sour cherry, toast and spice flavors. Clean on the finish.

A well balanced wine that shows good body, modest but adequate acidity, and a good blend of citrus, pear, apple, melon, herb and spice flavors. The finish is moderate in length, and shows a veiled honeyed note at the end.

A nice, light-bodied wine with some pretty flavors of cherries, vanilla and leather. Has a smooth, creamy texture and an elegant mouthfeel that’s almost Burgundian.

This lively Riesling offers aromas of citrus, apricot and honey, followed by layers of white fruit, spice and pepper. The wine has a slightly sweet fruity character but it’s balanced by acid and minerals. A fun but impressive Riesling.
