Good nose, very sweet and ripe, lots of aromas of black cherries, and as expected quite barnyardy and earthen, woody; wonderful in the mouth, sweet and rich, loaded with ripe cherries and black fruits; almost too much jamminess in this wine, but it is saved by a good balance of acidity and blended tannins; very long finish, with the ample amounts of glycerin giving the wine a lengthy mouth-coating texture; lovely wine with great balance at the end. As expected, the nose shows a slight presence of rot, so notable in this vintage, but is also sweet and very aromatic, elegant and ripe fruit aromas become more dominant as the wine breathes out in the glass, ending with wonderful aromas of lavender violets; the wine is disappointing after a promising beginning, showing very little fruit in the mouth; the dominant flavors are dry, woody tannins with a grainy earthen texture; the finish in the mouth is the same, with a notable lack of fruit; there is no chance of improvement in this wine, so immediate drinking is important. Aromatic and sweet nose, black cherries and sweet spices, lavender, earth; sweet and ripe in the front of the mouth; good fruit flavors, mostly black cherries; woody tannins that impart a slightly hard texture; good citrus fruit in the mid-mouth, a bit tough and hard at the end, which is expected from this vintage, but quite elegant and nicely made. Perfumed, black cherry aromas, very sweet with complex aromas of licorice, black spices, black olives, earthen; sweet and aggressive, big flavors, spicy and ripe, rich, almost opulent, good balance and grip; a big wine if a bit over the top. (18/20)
