Deep smoky aromas, roasted coffee beans, sweet aromas that show a lot of very ripe fruit; first taste is too sweet, with an almost cloying jammy fruit texture, but then the wine assumes more balance in the mid-mouth; more notable acidity and tannins emerge, although there is an overriding sweetness in the wine and softness to its textures that make it very approachable; my palate needs more structure and grip though, and perhaps if tried again in a year or two, the elements will be better balanced in the mouth.
