There’s a funky note of old leather permeating this Pinot Noir. It’s dry and silky and quite rich, as you’d expect from this vineyard, showing black and red cherry purée, pomegranate, cola, orange zest and sandalwood flavors that are wrapped into rich tannins. Complex now, and should develop over the next 2–4 years.

Tight and acidic, with a sharpness that’s a little cutting now, despite elaborate cherry pie filling, cola and red currant flavors. Could develop over the next few years, but it’s a gamble.

Dry and acidic, with green, sour flavors of pyrazines and Meyer lemons. Badly needs greater richness. The wine was raised in stainless steel on the lees.

This is a good vineyard and it’s a decent wine but not a great one. It’s overripe, as shown by the raisiny flavors and a certain peppery heat. But it will be fine with a big barbecued chunk of beef.

A little musty in aroma, and the flavors, of blackberries, raspberries, red currants and cola, seem tamped down. Drink now.
