Brezza’s Sarmassa has attractive aromas of sweet red fruits. Ripe fruits follow on the palate, with sweet tarry flavors, a hint of orange zest and chocolate, and a finish of sweet and sour acidity.

The attractive aromas of pure, juicy fruit appear on the palate as superripe, almost overripe fruit flavors. At this stage, the wine doesn’t balance, but there is some power and it should develop.

Brezza’s main blend of Barolo shone in 1997. There is pure, ripe but concentrated fruit and ripe, sweet and sour tannins over new wood flavors and black tarry flavors. This is a serious, condensed wine typical of the powerful nature of the vintage.
