Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This luminous Prosecco delivers pretty aromas of citrus, field flower, honey and stone fruit. The wine is watery and practically nonexistent in terms of structure although it does offer playful fizz on the close.

There is definitely some good ripeness here but cherry and farmyard tones are hampered by a bit too much sulfur while the short finish shows some nice leather but also a funky undertone. Not the best of its class.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is an extremely ripe super Tuscan blend with jammy notes of blackberry and strawberry backed by clove and white peppercorn. The wine has a thorny, raw side and ends with sweet, chewy tannins and a smoky aftertaste.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Here’s a pale and luminous rosé from Southern Italy with a pinkish-peach color and delicate aromas of stone fruit, wild berries, white cherries and a touch of chopped mint or basil. The wine is tart but also slightly sweet in the mouth and there’s a touch of bitter almond on the close.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Here’s a hot, jammy Primitivo that has all the heat of the Southern Italian sun locked within. The wine boasts luscious dark concentration and a sweet, syrupy nose with spice, oak and tobacco. You can feel the heat in the mouth and the wine is soft and incredibly chewy to the touch. If you love big and bold wines, this is for you.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Here is a sharp and well-focused late harvest blend of Primitivo and Negroamaro from Puglia with aromas of mature cherries, plums, prunes, clove and moist tobacco. The wine is ripe and sweet tasting with loads of fruit flavors and a soft, but alcoholic finish.
