A vibrant, easy-to-drink and attractively priced Viognier. Melon, pear and delicate citrus oil flesh out the creamy mouth. The finish lingers slightly but is clean and refreshing. Drink now.

This poised Chardonnay offers a combination of fresh Chardonnay fruit and subtle spice on the nose, and on the palate, an elegant and curvy blend of fruit with a spin of minerally freshness. Pretty and complex.

This red blend has a soft, dry, herbal nose that leads into flavors of spice, dried herbs and red berry. The wine is elegant and full of energy, but needs time to age and soften. A fun red that will pair nicely with soft cheeses and dried meats.

Aromas of clove and spice start this assertive, easydrinking blend of Syrah and Viognier. Forward blackberry and cassis flavors mingle with oaky spice and sturdy tannins. Aromatic and friendly, the wine will pair well with lamb and beef.

Firm but fresh aromas and flavors of spice, peach and flowers gives this blend a feminine flair, but overall this is crisp and dry. Unfolding but fun flavors coat the tongue but finish off clean, meaning the wine will pair well with everything from spicy Thai dishes to delicate fish offerings. A good price for a stylish wine.

A cheerful nose of raspberry, strawberry and lemon starts this rosé blend, and like flavors follow in layers that offer substance beyond the typical rosé. The wine has a touch of sweetness and a more unctuous mouthfeel than the nose might suggest, giving it the weight to pair with more complex dishes. Overall, an affordable, elegant choice.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This coastal region red from the cleverly named Goats do Roam winery is named from the Barbera and Primitivo grapes that comprise it. It’s a somewhat lean offering but for the oak and spice on the nose and some bright berry flavors, needing more balance and flavior to really assert itself.

This attractive white's dry mineral-herb nose, round, full feel and tasty pear-spice flavors add up to a winner. Yet another very credible psuedo-Rhone Capester from Charles Back and the Fairview crew. French authorities should lighten up on their (serious) case against his harmless, tongue-in-cheek name, while Rhone winemakers ought to note it as an homage and laud Back's good work with their native grapes.
