89-91 Barrel sample. Owned by Cos d'Estournel, this is made in a sumptuous style for a Médoc wine. It is plump, ripe, the fruit the sole event here. It is sweet black and rich. For early drinking.

This estate belongs to Cos d’Estournel, and the style and vinification recall the richness of that wine. Along with that richness are firm tannins, allied to some astringency. But the intense blackberry and black fig flavors give it a polished feel and a New World-style, fairly heavy finish.

Made by the winemaking team at Cos d’Estournel, this is a very soft, generous wine that burst with fruit in the mouth. The structure is easy, gently tannic but not more. The pleasure is from the sweet fruit.

90-92 Barrel sample. Soft, fleshy and fruity, with tannins that are very ripe. The fruit has blackberry juice, sweet with an edge of licorice.

Intense fruit is enlivened by acidity that rides high over the tannins, giving the wine great freshness. There is an aromatic, sweet juicy character that comes through the acidity. A delicious wine.
