It’s already maturing; the fruit is apparently losing its varietal character and turning raisiny, with some chocolate scents from the barrels. It finishes with more than a hint of veggie in the tannins, which are rather awkwardly married to the chocolate barrel flavors.

It’s two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, the rest split fairly evenly between Cab Franc and Merlot. A selection of the winery’s best barrels, it delivers sweet fruit aromas of boysenberry and blackberry, with coffee accents.

Deep yellow-green, very soft and ripe, this tastes like an oak-drenched wine already moving past its prime. Finishes with a distinctly bitter edge.

This is an earthy, herbal wine, with some interesting cinnamon and spice from the barrel aging. On the palate it’s soft and earthy, then turns herbal and a bit rough in the finish.

Soft, pretty fruit, has some herbal scents showing; leaf and spice lead into some pretty hard tannins. Some volatility in the nose.

Decently ripe, with grape, plum and blackberry flavors, and some pretty sweetness in the midpalate. Tannic and earthy, it’s fruity and good in front but fades quickly.
