Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
For the first time, Shadrach is a 100% Barossa wine, although most of the fruit is from higher elevation vineyards in the Eden Valley. Coffee, tobacco, cassis and chocolate aromas and flavors give this a decadent profile, but it retains Cabernet’s aristocratic structure. It’s round and rich, yet firmly built, picking up tea-like notes on the lengthy finish. Drink now–2018.

Very standard grassy, citrusy aromas and some Bartlett pear as well. Citrus and lemon-peel flavors, with grapefruit on the finish. The soft mouthfeel goes flat rather quickly. Acidity is lacking, so what you get is a basic white that is on the soft side.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Grant Burge’s new Shiraz releases are looking very good, and more proof is in this mid-level bottling. It’s smooth and silky on the palate, with dried spice accents and seeped tea-like tannins. Its red plum and raspberry fruit is juicy now, but will hang on just fine for the next 5 or so years. Imported by Wilson Daniels Ltd.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Full and lush in the mouth, Grant Burge’s 10 Year Old is incredibly easy to drink. The toffee and dried fruit notes are lively and fresh, accented by a hint of peppery spice on the finish. A nice change up for those used to tawny Port.

Grant Burge Port - NV

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is rather big and burly, powered by rich blackberry fruit, spice and earthy notes that are highlighted by brighter raspberry tones. It could use a more polished mouthfeel and greater length on the finish, but its muscular nature would do well paired with grilled steak. Drink now–2012.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
There are some attractive dried-spice notes built into this wine, but on the whole it’s dominated by confected, jammy berry fruit. The texture is slightly syrupy, and the wine finishes soft. Despite the impressive moniker, it’s an easy, entry-level Shiraz for the casual drinker.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Full-bodied and thickly textured, this is a darkly fruited Shiraz, loaded with scents of espresso and blackberries, accented by hints of dried spices and roasted meat. Turns cedary on the long finish; best from 2010–2016.

Crisp and flavorful, with medium body and honey, pineapple and toast aromatics. Its pineapple and nut flavors fade into a bright, citrus-pineapple finish. A very good wine, aptly named for the season in which it should be drunk.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This fat, rather anonymous Chardonnay exhibits adequate tropical and citrus fruit but also a sour edge to its flavors.
