Soft and rich nose with lots of sweet fruit with a very ripe and slightly stewed character, lots of volatile acidity present as well, however, showing the aged nature of this wine, black cherry aromas are still pretty much in evidence though, mixed with earth and truffles; quite sweet and a bit dense in the mouth; the sweetness of the fruit and the density of texture suggest that this may be more than pinot noir; still a good wine with lots of flavor; not as elegant as one might like and bit coarse at the finish, but good for its age. Wonderful light nose filled with perfumed aromatics of flower petals and dried cherries, spices and hints of pepper; wonderfully focused in the mouth, with soft but enticing flavors; classic old Burgundy with a real feminine character; woody but filled with ripe fruit; still has that Chambertin elegance and focus; aged now, but with grace. Light and sweetly perfumed nose, rose petals, earth and citrus aromas, wonderful sweet fruit aromas, quite ripe but also feminine in nature; sweet fruit in the front of the mouth, lots of lemon in the mid-palate, but also lots of dry tannins; beginning to break apart some, but still has a real citrus fruit core at the back of the mouth, and although a bit simple, this is classic Burgundy, and gives lie to the belief that all ’76 Burgundies are finished.
