Starts off sulfury and earthy, and stays in that sullen funk for a while. It’s plump on the palate, just doesn’t give up that much in the way of fruit flavors, finishing tart.

Nicely balanced, yet still reflects the vintage’s hot character in its rounded acids and sweet finish. Rainwater, green apples and limes provide a counterweight to the sugar and give the wine a light, airy feel.

Flagrantly floral on the nose, with lilac scents layered over pineapple fruit. Despite fresh apple and pear flavors over a minerally foundation, this wine comes across as a bit heavy, only partially balanced by some tangy acids on the finish.

Frankly sweet and almost flabby, with plenty of sugar, petrolly minerality and ripe pear flavors, but this wine lacks the buoyant citrusy zest needed for balance and length.

Strongly petrolly and slaty, with those powerful elements backed by apple and pineapple notes. It’s plump for a kabinett, weighing in at 10.5% alcohol, but balanced and easy to drink now.
