Considering this wine’s flavor profile, it’s easy to see how the words “landscape” and “earth” are part of its name. Meat, earth and briary aromas segue into more earthy goodness, plus some blackberry fruit, on the palate. Medium-bodied, it’s an easy choice for those who value a dose of terroir with their fruit. —D.M.

The initial impression from the bouquet is that you are in the middle of a barnyard. Fruit just isn’t part of the aromatic show. Cherry and leather dominate the palate, which has ample tannic grip and the full allotment of spiciness. Unfortunately, however, it doesn’t sing as a whole.
