Excellent smooth tasting wine with massive amounts of fruit. Doesn't bite on the finish and lingers with a nice flavor of fruit offset by a little floral.

This is one of those Cabs that has the structure and pedigree of a fine appellation, with gorgeously ripe tannins. Yet it also comes from a hot vintage, and the flavors tend toward sweetened pie filling and dessert pastries, which are awkward in a Cabernet. Blackberries and chocolate dominate.

Kudos to the winery for picking at low brix and for keeping the residual sugar so low so that the wine is absolutely dry. It lets the palate really appreciate the acid-brightened flavors of exotic fruits, wildflowers, and, especially, Asian spices. The wine could be more concentrated, but it’s still a good sipper.

Smooth textured and sleek on the palate. The wine serves up a tangy-edged blend of black cherry, raspberry, vanilla, plum, licorice and herb flavors that stay with you long on the finish. A good wine from an old family winery.

From one of the older Pinot Noir vineyards in the valley. There’s nothing shy about the aromas or flavors. It’s got tomato, coffee, mushroom, black- and red-raspberry and peppery-spicy notes that last into the finish. Silky tannins and mild acids make it immediately drinkable.

Fine fresh fruit marks the nose of this attractive medium-weight contender. The flavors are round and appley, but with a slight crispness that adds some edge. Finishes clean, with a likable tartness.

Light and simple pear and citrus fruit is clean and tasty enough. A pleasant quaff for a hot summer afternoon.

The vineyard is right on the border of Sonoma Valley and Carneros. Both are good places to grow Merlot, and this wine shows ripe cherry, pomegranate and spice flavors with cool-climate-influenced crisp acidity. It’s a rich, sumptuous Merlot that’s at its best now.

A beautifully dry Gewürz that shows the variety’s exotic, spicy personality, and frames it in a crisp texture of acidity and minerality. Brims with stimulating flavors of lychee, peaches, mangos, apples, honeysuckle flower and just about every spice you can name. Right up there with the best.

This isn’t one of your tropical fruit and oak, acidic cool-climate monster Chards. It’s soft and earthy, with a dried sage and oregano edge to the green apple and white peach flavors.
