Not as plump or floral as most Moschofileros, but more minerally and intense. Mineral, lime and ginger ale aromas are followed by lime, green apple and mineral flavors. It’s light in body, yet long on the finish. A top-notch seafood white.

A minty, spicy nose and smooth, integrated flavors of berry, oak and pepper make this red from Greece a no-brainer choice for fans of unusual wines. Mild, mellow and friendly, the wine is a good example of the variety that, along with Xinomavro, has put Greek wine on the map.

Black pepper and a juicy red berry nose recommend this red from Greece, but on the palate, there’s a one-dimensional simplicity and slight bitterness that’s hard to embrace. That said, paired with food, this wine might soften up and prove to be a decent quaffer.
