The 45-acre Hans Lang estate is run by Johann Maximilian Lang from the winery in Hattenheim. With this Beerenauslese, he has been able to extract all the best elements of botrytis. It is beautifully intense, full of ripe, sweet fruit, with tangible flavors of raisins and honey. The palate is silky smooth, voluptuous, opulent. There is enormous intensity.

A deliciously fresh wine, with springtime ripeness and a vibrancy and life. Flavors of orange marmalade and crisp honey come with the lightness and freshness

This is a classic, but it just misses greatness. There is sweetness at the start and the fruit is very ripe, balanced by a layer of tannin. Very pure fruit with thirst quenching acidity.

Balanced fruit between sweetness and dryness shows some acidity over flavors of quince and baking apples. The wine has a creamy texture, but also full, sweet and dry fruit .

A touch of sulfur on the nose spoils the wine, but there is also attractive simple fruit with some pleasant sweetness.
