Rugged and tannic, with alcohol and acidity taking center stage on the palate. There are some very dry cherry-berry and herb flavors. Not bad for this everyday price.

Smells simple, with plum, berry and earth aromas. Picks up some richness in the mouth, with well-ripened blackberry flavors. Finishes dry.

What it has in common with Aussie Shiraz is strong, jammy berry fruit, crisp acids and dry tannins. But this wine has a rough edge to it, and finishes rustic and simple.
