There's a strong menthol presence here, illuminated by notes of raspberry, red plum, African violet and dark chocolate. The full mouth avoids feeling fat with excellent acidity and balanced tannins. One of the more exciting appellations in Languedoc, Faugères produces wines of considerable depth and flavor. This wine is no exception, displaying solid tannins coupled with juicy red fruits. It's an elegant wine with ripe fruit tempered by a cool, restrained element.

The color gives the grape away, that grey pink, very seductive. The wine itself is clean, fresh, promising attractive redcurrant fruit flavors and refreshing acidity. It is just off dry, and finishes softly.

This blend of Syrah and Grenache has dominating flavors of red raspberry and currant with supporting accents of bay leaves and thyme. Medium weight with structured tannins, good acidity and a medium-length finish, it ends on a muted dried cherry note.

Not the finest year for this Syrah rosé, as the overly ripe flavors of mashed banana, cotton candy, melted strawberry-banana icepop and red Jolly Rancher seem to abound both on the nose and in the mouth. A thinner texture and absence of strong acidity leaves the sweeter components lingering too long on the palate.

Starts off with minor notes of green vegetation that then transitions to overripe fruit: prune, dried fig and raisin. Cherry and plum skin appear on the palate, emphasizing the tannic astringency of the wine. A solid wine, but the 2006 seems to be showing far better.
