Cassis fruit, with aromas of forest, dill and a funky leathery note. Black-currant, berry and chocolate flavors predominate. Rich, almost creamy mouthfeel, with a nice finish of medium length and moderate tannins.

Opens with powerful aromas of cedar, toasty oak and vanilla perfume framing ripe black currant and mocha. Turns wonderfully smooth in the mouth. Plump and ripe in cherry and currant fruit, it’s beautiful now, but has the tannins and balance to last forever.

Big and rugged, with blackberry and herb flavors that finish very dry and tannic. A blend from various parts of Napa Valley.

A classic wine from this legendary winemaker, the wine opens with a powerful and deep nose that dips down through layers of aromas, bringing together lots of rich ripe black fruits, mint, herbs, lots of licorice, and a touch of smoke and minerals; sweet and focused in the mouth; the first hint of overripe sweetness gives way to a more balanced and refined smooth citrus flavors; not as complex or subtle as the “Martha’s Vineyard”, this is nonetheless a real statement on its own in a different less incisive way; long finish, smooth and rich with silky tannins at the finish.
