Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Abelé lays claim to being the third-oldest Champagne house in Reims, and this stylish, sophisticated and thoroughly excellent bottle provides ample evidence that this is an important producer. From the textured, elegant, densely layered nose to the richly toasted flavors and the lingering, sensuous finish, it shows a confident touch with a continental flair.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A good value in Champagne, this nonvintage cuvée boasts delicate toast and citrus aromas followed up by tightly focused flavors of green apple, lemons and limes. It's very different from Abelé's vintage offering but delicious in a different way. Finishes with a crisp, youthful edge to its flavors.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Smells promising, with scents of toast, vanilla, soy and mushroom wafting from the glass, then delivers on that promise in a full-bodied, expansive way. Earth and mushroom flavors flow across the palate, balanced by fresh apple and citrus notes and a chalky texture. Drink now–2015.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Despite being under the ownership of Cava house Freixenet, Henri Abelé remains little known. This Brut nonvintage is a finely made wine, on the sweeter side of Brut, but certainly well-balanced and crisp. For a Champagne, it is also a good value.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Abelé claims to be the third oldest Champagne house in Reims, and makes a very stylish, sophisticated wine for the price. A big, plush, yeasty nose sends sweet notes of cracker and toast above lime and mineral; the flavors that follow are forward, round and rich. Hints of mango and papaya fruit lead into a sensuous, lightly spicy, thoroughly satisfying finish.
