Sweet, spicy and peppery nose, a touch of floral scents, but more cinnamon and sweet oriental spices, black fruits; sweet and quite smooth-textured in the mouth, lots of black fruits with plums and cherries; smooth tannins, chewy but balanced; long finish with some of the coarseness that these wines exhibit, but certainly more elegant and complex than most from this region. Very spicy and minerally nose, green herbs, smoked meat, lemons, assertive nose; round and diffuse on the palate, missing a focal point, big, coarse acidity emerges in the middle of the mouth, strange textures in this wine, a bit of cotton; pretty good finish with lots of chunky fruit; interesting but not compelling.
