Classic nose, big and burly, lots of smoke and animal scents, black pepper and licorice, earthen, rough and assertive, but there is a hint of floral nuances in the back, hiding and afraid to come out; this is, as expected, a big wine in the mouth, loaded with earth and tannins, black fruit flavors abound, but they are badly battered by huge, rough tannins that create a somewhat coarse, bitter wine; but right on the money for what it is.
