Soft and jammy in blackberries and cherries, with a sweet oak edge. A good, everyday Cabernet to drink now.

Lots of fresh, ripe blackberry and cherry fruit in this clean, vibrant Merlot. It’s soft and dry, with enough tannins to give it a little bite. Drink now with meats, roast chicken, cheeses.

Jammy, with that sharp, fruity bite of tartness you get from blackberry marmalade. Yet the finish is thoroughly dry. Drink now with casual fare.

Huntington Petite Sirah - 2008

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Shows the strengths and the weaknesses of Petite Sirah. On the plus side is ripe fruit, firm, classy tannins and an overall balance that suggests this variety is indeed noble. On the minus side is the overripe sweetness that gives a Porty finish.

Here’s a good everyday Chard, offering immediate pleasure in the ripe tropical fruit and peach flavors, creamy texture and smoky oak influence. It’s a blend of Russian River and Alexander Valley.

Deliciously gentle. Makes you wonder why more people don’t drink Syrah. With a soft complexity, the wine houses lush flavors of cherries, plums, mocha and violets, accented with sweet, smoky oak.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
From an up-and-coming winery, a nice wine with berry and earth flavors, and some rich chocolate and tobacco notes. Very dry, but it’s pretty tannic. Might soften and gain some complexity with a few years in the cellar.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A good, clean, white wine, with upfront flavors of citrus fruits and spearmint, boosted by acidity. Fills the mouth with juicy tartness that lasts through a spicy finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a likeable Chard brimming with citrus and green apple flavors and tart Russian River acids. Has a little oak, not much, just enough to lend some vanilla and cream notes.
