Tightly sculpted, and does not try to be bigger than it is. But it captures something elusive, a certain finesse and elegance. Though not a big wine, it wraps itself around the palate in a comforting way and lingers deliciously through the finish.

Sharp and spicy, with plenty of acid. The fruit seems underripe and lacks focus. The midpalate is thin and the finish gets a little hot.

Round, sweet and appealing, with black cherry and lush vanilla wrapped together into a lush, fruity core. The fruit is perfect, and the wine is polished, silky and delivers a long, drawn-out finish that never tires or turns sour.
