Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This brilliantly fruity wine shows South Coast Chardonnay-like flavors in the ripe mango, papaya and peach, and also showcases cool-climate acidity that makes that fruit sing on the palate. It’s a young, dry, vibrantly fresh wine that’s delicious by itself, but should be fabulous with fish or chicken topped with a tropical fruit salsa.

Shows cherry, cola, cocoa and coffee flavors wrapped in nicely balanced acids and tannins, with a pleasant mouthfeel through the finsh. This is a dry, very nice, coastal Pinot Noir, silky and elegant.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This is a new vineyard from the owners of Bien Nacido, located within sight of the Pacific. The vines are young but promising. This low-production Pinot is dry and racy as the latest clones have given it huge, pure cherry pie, raspberry, cocoa and Fig Newton flavors. Hard to imagine a more delicious young Pinot. Drink this racy wine now.

Classic Bien Nacido Pinot, this low- production wine shows a fine, elegantly silky mouthfeel, with brisk acidity and red cherry and cola flavors that turn massively spicy on the finish. It’s captivating right now, a racy young wine of great pedigree and distinction.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Made in a very ripe, exotic style, this low-production Pinot has pastry flavors of raspberries, red cherries and cotton candy, spiced up with cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Yet it’s very dry, with the crisp acidity that always accompanies Bien Nacido wines.

This Pinot is deep, full-bodied and rich, with a succulent core of black cherry, mocha and spice flavors, and is dry despite the ripe fruitiness.

Light in color and texture, with a silky, airy mouthfeel, this Pinot has elegant flavors of cherries, anise, vanilla, Asian spices and smoky wood. It’s a polished wine for drinking now.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Ultra-rich, with the weight and creamy texture of a full-blown Chardonnay, but it’s a little too exotically rich and heavy for balance. Although the wine is fully dry, the flavors of pineapple cinnamon buns, butterscotchy toffee and Lifesaver lemons and limes are overwhelming.

Pale in color, with inviting aromas of mashed red cherries, anise, oatmeal raisin cookie and cinnamon. With its crisply dry finish, it’s a nice Pinot to drink now.
