Classic old Rhône nose of wet leaves, rotting wood, dense and overripe sweetness, truffles; incredibly smooth and silky, no trace of tannins left in this wine, but there is lots of alcohol, overripe macerated fruit, quite alcoholic but also sweet and ripe, nice finish, very smooth and a bit hard, lacking the complexity and structure that these wines can have; sweet but tired.
