very gamey nose with smoked meat and earthen aromas, woody, spicy, and a real touch of the barnyard, sour mash aromas; sweet and ripe fruit on the palate start this wine; there are layers of earthen and woody flavors mixed with red and black fruits; not an elegant wine, it is a bit coarse, but still fresh in this format; long finish, real acidity and tannins here; maybe something more than pinot as well, but a good wine with deep flavors and real poise.
